Chromatic Axis
2025
Description
Chromatic Axis is an ongoing series exploring the relationship between porcelain and hand-blown glass. Wheel-thrown porcelain forms are combined with blown glass containing murrine patterns derived from textile structures. These patterns become embedded within the glass, transforming the visual softness of fabric into a rigid and permanent material language. The series brings together opacity and transparency, surface and depth, and two materials that behave very differently during the making process. Each object explores a different balance between the porcelain body and the patterned glass, while maintaining a shared formal language across the series.
