Suspended Axis brings ceramics and blown glass together with water and light. The work begins with the familiar form of a ceramic vessel, stretched and divided by transparent sections that reveal an internal shape normally hidden from view.
Water held inside the blown glass acts as a lens, inverting and distorting the inner form, its shadow and parts of the surrounding space. As the object is viewed from different angles, these elements overlap and shift, changing how the form is perceived.
